DIY Sugar Lip Scrub with Honey and Cinnamon

DIY Sugar Lip Scrub with Honey and Cinnamon

The weather has been a pain these couple of days. It actually feels like summer again with how hot it is and then some other days it rains. And I’ve really noticed that it’s not only causing my allergic rhinitis to act up again but also making my lips so dry and flaky. I just put more moisture on my lips during this kind of weather but unfortunately, it’s not working. Dry, flaky lips are one of the things that annoy me the most. Not only does it prevent me from using any lip products but it actually hurts. So, I’ve decided to raid the kitchen and whip me up a DIY sugar lip scrub with honey and cinnamon.

The best part of all of this DIY is that all the ingredients are natural and available in everyone’s household. So, follow this simple guide to create your own lip scrub.

What You Need:

1 tablespoon Brown Sugar

1 teaspoon Honey

1 teaspoon Coconut Oil

1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (for added flavour)

A bottle or container

Just combine everything together to create a paste. There’s no need to feel pressured in following the measurements. You may adjust the amounts of ingredients as you like to get the perfect consistency you want. After everything is mixed together, just take a small spatula or use your finger and start scrubbing your lips lightly. I recommend to dab a little vaseline on your lips after for added moisture.

This scrub will definitely help exfoliate all the dead skin off your lips. The coconut oil will give your skin added moisture as well as the honey and cinnamon. The honey will not only make your lips plumper but will lock in vitamins too that will help heal wounds. Vanilla extract is optional. It’s not common in some scrub ingredients but you can put a few drops if you want some added flavour (and amazing smell).
