Right off the bat I knew I’d fall in love with @skin1004philippines . The beautiful packaging is one thing but the brand’s philosophy and mission are another things. They keep the ingredients simple – using only natural raw materials and pure ingredients from clean nature. No artificial colour and fragrance. No animal testing. Paraben and alcohol free. All the things that are sometimes hard to find in some brands.
I received this in the best time when I was going through period breakouts. Centella are one of those key ingredients that you should look for when you want help in calming inflammation, speed up the wound healing and improve skin elasticity.
Lo and behold these products contain 100% Centella Asiatica extracts! How great is that?
I guess I’ll start off with their packaging. I don’t know about you but I’m a sucker for anything clean and straightforward when it comes to package designs, and I think they were able to achieve that. Not to mention, they’re in English texts, too. Some Korean brands don’t have English texts in their packaging that most of the time annoys me especially when I have no time to google. The bottle is simple and plastic with a dropper. I like anything with a dropper because I think it helps me measure the amount of products to put and at the same time, it prevents from spillage.
Now I tried using the ampoule alone on the first few days before mixing it with my favourite cream. You’d think that because it’s Centella Ampoule* ($36/₱1,736 for 100ml) it would be thicker like serums but nooooo. It actually has a watery texture which kinda reminds you of toners (or essence) and not gonna lie I prefer it like that. It’s non-sticky and sinks into your skin easily, leaving you super hydrated!
The same goes with the Water Sheet Ampoule Mask* ($25/₱1,240). Gosh, I love using this at night after doing my long-ass night routine. Definitely a perfect combination when treating troubled face.
And for someone who’s on the slightly sensitive, really oily side group, I was expecting that it would feel heavy upon application but it wasn’t. It’s lightweight and leaves your face glowy without looking like you just have grease stains on your face (after eating a burger or something).
I did notice that some of the redness on my face reduced and scars are disappearing. Not bad for two weeks of usage, right?
This is definitely suitable for gals and pals with sensitive/acne-prone skin.
Is this worth the try? Definitely. But I’m not gonna lie the price tag is a tad bit on the expensive side so this’ll definitely be a splurge.
