I still can’t believe January is over. It feels like it rolled away so quickly (or was it just me?) and we’re now welcoming the love month. One thing I completely get excited about on this month is the amount of Glamorous Valentine’s look tutorials I see everywhere. It gives me another excuse to test and just play around with makeup. I’ve been eagerly watching tutorials, especially that I just got my Morphe 35O palette, and have quite a few inspirations. One tutorial that piqued my interest was one by Bella Fiori. I can’t rave about her enough because she’s just so amazing. She actually created three looks using Morphe 35O palette. It wasn’t really intended for a Valentine’s look but I thought it would be unique to do so. So, I’m sharing with you guys how I created this Glamourous Valentine’s Look.
For this look, I went back and used an old love, the L’oreal Paris True Match Foundation. I noticed that it stays on longer than my Maybelline Fit Me Foundation which is what we prefer if we’re going out on a date. As much as possible, choose a foundation that will last all night on your face. Or maybe get yourself a nice primer like The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer which is perfect for combination to oily skinned and those on a budget. You can also set your face after a primer with a setting spray. The Milani Make It Last Setting Spray Prime + Correct + Set is a great drugstore setting spray that you can use under and over makeup. It can help last your makeup for hours. And if you don’t believe me, you can ask Kathleen Lights yourself.
And now for the eyes, I used (obviously) Morphe 35O Nature Glow Eyeshadow Palette. It’s definitely on top of my favourite palettes right now. The downside of this palette is the lack of names for each shade. It would’ve been easier if it has one. Anyway, after I put Maybelline Fit Me Concealer around my eyes, I made sure to set it with the lightest shade on the palette to avoid it from creasing.
Next, I start using number one as my transition color. I just dust it lightly all over my crease to create a nice, soft, halo effect. With the same sweeping motion, I used number two. It is a more intense orange colour. I just went back and forth with it and went in with number three, focusing on the outer V and just smoking it a little. After that, I just blended number two and three together. The colour payoffs were absolutely stunning. Definitely my favourite shades in the palette. Moving on, I combined number four and five and just pat them on both sides of my eye, skipping the middle area. And just made sure that I’m getting a rich chocolate colour. Again, blended them all.
And when everything was set and smoked and blended, I used my finger to put on number six on the center, giving it a nice shimmer. I noticed that using my brush for the shimmer shades doesn’t work at all. And I get a better result when using my finger. Instead of using darker shades for my lower lash line, I opted to use number two and three. I really do feel like that the orange colour around the eyes gives a more fiery, daring look. But you can still use darker shades, it depends which suits you best. Last but not the least, fake lashes for that bold look.
Since my eyes were already popping, I chose to wear L’oreal Paris Infallible 2-step Lip Color Lipstick in pink which gives my lips a nice nude touch. And dusted the high points of my face with my favourite Sleek MakeUP Solstice Highlighting Palette and contoured my face with EstéE Lauder Bronze Goddess Shimmering Nudes Face & Eye Palette.
So, what makeup look are you doing this Valentine’s?
