A Grateful Post: Blogger Recognition Award Nominee

There are no words how ecstatic I am about writing this. It’s been six months since I have decided to take blogging seriously and so far, things are going great. And part of the going great is getting the honour to be recognized and nominated twice for this year’s Blogger Recognition Award by these two amazing ladies, Cheryl Demarco (www.cheryldemarco.com) and Cassidy Dyce (sunkissed405.com). These ladies had no idea how happy and appreciated they made me feel. And I just can’t thank them enough.

Journey To Blogging

A lot of people have been asking, “Why did you start blogging?”. And I always jokingly tell them, “because it’s my passion to tell people what to do.” But the truth is, I just want to inspire people.

The only thing I had in mind when I started my journey two years ago was that I want to write about the books I read. I thought that was just it, you know. I had no idea that the process of making that thought into a blog was difficult and crazy.

But I pushed myself to learn and I still do – every day. So, when I got the hang of blogging, I decided to take it up a notch and write more other things aside from books. That’s when I start writing about my travels, beauty reviews, advises and all sort of stuff. The journey may have been difficult in the beginning but the process I went through was fulfilling and I definitely had a lot of fun.

I guess that’s the good thing about doing something you want and/or passionate about, you find joy in between hardships.

And when I decided to finally take blogging seriously, I bought my own domain and self-host. I knew I made the right choice and I couldn’t be any happier.

So, my advice to my fellow bloggers?

If you want something, go for it. It may be a little risky but it’s better to have tried than kept on guessing what would’ve been, right? Trust me, I’ve been there. I also had my doubts and I have talked myself out of things many times and one of those things was blogging. But here I am now. Having the time of life doing what I’ve always enjoyed doing.

Also, just be yourself. It is the most important thing I have learned through out this blogging journey. I know the pressure can be a bit overwhelming especially when you see fellow bloggers being all successful and having this and that. But trust me, it always pays to be unique. You don’t have to be anybody else to be successful or to get noticed. You may have those times that you can’t stop comparing yourself to others but who doesn’t? It’s natural. But never stop doing just that. Instead of getting envious, use them as inspirations to be better. And c’mon, no one wants or wants to be a copycat.

And you know who else stepped out of their comfort zone and continued to be themselves? The amazing people behind these equally amazing blogs. I hope you guys show some love and support to them, and actually make them your inspiration like I did.
