The Ordinary is a hot new budget skincare range that I feel like everybody is talking about. It’s been changing the skincare game for quite some time now with its great formulation (hello, cruelty-free, guys!) and nice effectivity. So, it’s really saddening that this is the first time I’ll be writing about this. Simply because The Ordinary is one of the many great brands that are not available here in my country which really sucks, to begin with. So, I had to really pull out resources (or wander the internet) in order to purchase one. Good thing I found this online store that resells authentic skincare brands, so, I did a little splurging. And just really glad to finally include this great brand in my skincare routine. Now, I’m sharing with you guys my top picks and my really favourite ones.
When the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% arrived at my doorstep, I couldn’t contain my excitement. But apart from the excitement of finally getting my hands on this, I was curious about how it will be more effective than The Body Shop Tea Tree Night Lotion. Despite having a slightly thick formula that resembles gel, it is still lightweight and easy to massage into the skin. It actually feels like a cooling gel upon application. It’s not tacky at all and it seeps into the skin perfectly, leaving my skin hydrated. And I can promise you that a little goes a long way with this product (like most of my The ordinary products). Although I’ve been using this for almost three months now, I still can’t tell whether it’s doing its job or not. I still would like to test it out alone. I use this in the evening before the night lotion and the facial oil. So, I’d like to try to use it without the night lotion and oil to see its effectivity.
I’ve got to admit looking for the right moisturiser for my skin type had been a pain. Moisturisers tend to worsen the oiliness in my skin, so, getting introduced to Natural Moisturising Factors + HA was just perfect timing. It has a nice creamy formula that deeply nourishes and moisturises the skin without feeling tacky. I love how supple my skin feels after application especially when I combine it with High-Adherence Silicone Primer. But the question is, does it still leave me oily? No. I noticed less oil which is a really good sign.
And after getting completely disappointed with my previous primer, I diverted my attention (and money) to High-Adherence Silicone Primer. I was supposed to get the High-Spreadability Fluid Primer because I read that it fits my skin type but so far, I’m liking the Silicone Primer. I must admit that after having a bad experience with a different silicone primer I was a bit hesitant to try this out. But I’m so glad I’m not anymore. Unlike other silicone primers I’ve used, this one doesn’t sit on top of my skin and leave a greasy film on the skin. This actually blurs pores and disappears into my skin in a few seconds. And I love how I can apply my liquid foundation smoothly.
