Drugstore Makeup Brand Worth Every Penny
When it comes to recommendations, I consider two things. One, almost everyone should be going gaga over it. And two, I have actually seen people use them. But taking recommendations have some risks. I mean, let’s face it, recommendations can be paid ad or can really not be worth your penny.
Nonetheless, I took the bait. I let the recommendation take over my brain and recently, I bought this drugstore makeup brands called City Color and Detail Makeover. I’ve been hearing and seeing good things about them, and since it’s Christmas, I had a little haul. Lucky for me, these brands had a little Buy 1 Get 1 promo. Definitely didn’t break the bank.
Anyway, I got the essentials (for me at least); contour and eyebrow palettes. These two are the bestselling product they have and I am more than happy to test ’em out, and see if they live up to the expectations. I actually got them for the price of one. Hooray!
I have been using these contour kits ever since I bought them and I’m really liking it. The Detail Makeover Palette is actually my favourite and I use it on a daily basis. It is really pigmented and blendable. I actually prefer it more than my Elf Bronzer Kit, and that is saying something.
In terms of the highlighters, City Color’s are way more visible and it doesn’t look like grease on the face.
Next products are the eyebrow palettes. I take eyebrow products very seriously ‘coz eyebrows are life. But you know, looking for an affordable eyebrow kit can be a pain. But I am just glad that I was able to find another drugstore brand that fits my standards
Since I have an oily skin, I always go for pomade or creams for my eyebrows but this time, I made a huge decision of trying a brow powder. What I really like about this is that it is highly pigmented and I just did a light swipe. I’ve always enjoyed going for natural brows but there are eyebrow powders that just can’t do the job.
The darker shade really suits me well because it blends in perfectly with my dark brows and a small amount really goes a long way. I haven’t used the highlighter that it came with because I really don’t highlight in that area but I would certainly try it out this time.
This product should be my favourite because it has cream/pomade but it really doesn’t suit my taste. They don’t blend in perfectly as I want them to. The medium shade is just way too light for me. Although I really like the powders because they are pigmented too but not as much as the Detail’s.
My thoughts? They are all worth the try. The prices are reasonable and these brands are just two of the few drugstore brands that have good quality.
I hope you guys enjoyed this.
