As we go into the “colder” months (or rainy season), face masks become a staple in my skin care routine. My skin experiences all sort of changes as it adjusted to the weather. There are moments when my skin feels dry and patchy or breaks out a little. So, when these things happen, I usually find myself reaching for some sheet masks. They can help to draw out impurities, nourish the skin and add a glow too; perfect for when your complexion is looking a little lacklustre. Also, how cool is it that applying them makes you feel like you’re at a spa having a me-time? At the moment, I have quite a few collections of sheet masks on rotation from Korean beauty brands.
The Face Shop Lemon Citron Sheet Mask is hands down my favourite sheet mask of all three brands here. It’s what I usually reach for when I’m breaking out. It’s lightweight, moisturizing and nourishing on the skin. The texture is quite thick and watery but the citrusy scent is so relaxing. Plus, it does help brighten my face, even out my skin tone and my pimples are less pronounced after 10-15 minutes of soaking my face which is unlike any other. The mask is completely saturated that there will be some amount left in the pouch that you can always apply to other parts of your body.
Before switching to COSRX Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask (because it’s easier to apply), I used to use the Innisfree Skin Clinic Collagen Sheet Mask every single day. It contains a good amount of collagen which is perfect for firming and revitalizing loosened skin. Basically an anti-ageing mask. The sheet mask is made from 100% natural cotton which makes it soft and thin, allowing more substance to be absorbed by your skin. Also, it comes with a nice film attached to it to help you unfold it easily. It’s really nice because it leaves your skin feeling plump, firm and hydrated after every use.
If you’re looking for a really cheap sheet mask that still does it job then you need to get your hands on some Nature Republic Real Nature Sheet Masks. I really like the wide array of selections of mask it has which I find uniquely cute. The Avocado mask is what really got me interested in it. I mean, who doesn’t like avocado? It is rich in healthy fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants, improving your skin from the inside.
The Vitamin E in Avocados prevents our skin from ageing, while Vitamin C helps create elastin and collagen which bind your skin cells together to maintain their firmness and structure. The only downside of this sheet mask is how thin it is. I remember trying to unfold this and accidentally tearing it slightly in the process which is a first for me. But it’s really not something that would prevent me from repurchasing.
